2025 Bight Before Christmas Festivities at Key West Historic Seaport Are Just Around The Corner!

The holiday season is officially on its way to paradise, and there’s no better place to experience it than at the Key West Historic Seaport! The waterfront will once again sparkle with thousands of twinkling lights, festive décor, and that unmistakable island cheer during the annual Lighting of the Harbor Walk of Lights.
🌴 A Key West Holiday Tradition
Each year, the Key West Historic Seaport transforms into a dazzling display of holiday spirit, blending the island’s maritime charm with tropical warmth. Locals and visitors alike gather along the Harbor Walk for this beloved kickoff event — the moment when the seaport officially lights up for the holidays.
This year’s festivities begin on Thanksgiving Eve at sunset (around 6:00 p.m.) at the Greene and Elizabeth Street Plaza. From there, the holiday lights will shine nightly through New Year’s Eve, creating a breathtaking display that stretches along the waterfront from Greene Street to the Ferry Terminal at Grinnell Street.
🎄 Two Trees, One Magical Night
The evening begins with the lighting of the Fishing Buoy Christmas Tree at Greene and Elizabeth Streets — a uniquely Key West creation built from colorful, hand-painted fishing buoys collected from local artists and mariners. Then, stroll down to the Lobster Trap Christmas Tree at the foot of Margaret Street for its own lighting ceremony, featuring more island-themed artistry and plenty of photo ops!

🎶 Festivities for All Ages
Expect live holiday music, carolers, and appearances by Santa and Mrs. Claus, who will be spreading cheer and taking photos with families. The surrounding waterfront restaurants and bars will offer festive specials, and the entire seaport will glow with holiday energy.
Whether you’re sipping a cocktail under the lights, browsing local shops, or taking a sunset stroll along the docks, the Harbor Walk of Lights is a can’t-miss experience for all ages.
📸 Capture the Magic
Be sure to bring your camera — the reflections of the lights shimmering on the water make for some of the most beautiful holiday photos you’ll take all season!
